A unique mural by Julian Nowicki has been created on the wall at the intersection of Gdańska and Cieszkowskiego streets in Bydgoszcz. The work depicts the silhouette of Józef Święcicki, an outstanding builder who left behind many original tenement houses in the city. The mural shows Cieszkowskiego Street from the early 20th century, and the figure of Święcicki is adorned with a stylized photograph. Fragments of his designs and the architect's signature add authenticity to the painting. Two existing windows in the wall of the tenement house have been incorporated into the composition, creating a fascinating illusion, bringing the historical architecture to life and connecting the past with the present. Interestingly, opposite the mural stands the tenement house where Józef Święcicki bought a plot of land in October 1894. In August 1895, he began building his own impressive house there, designed by himself, which is one of the most magnificent in his architectural oeuvre.
