Information

  • Address: ul. Solankowa 33, Inowrocław
The mural at the Jan Kasprowicz Museum commemorates Papusza, or Bronisława Wajs, an exceptional Romani poet. Her childhood was filled with the sounds of a traveling caravan, and the beauty of her soul was expressed in "songs," as she called her poems. Jerzy Ficowski discovered and translated her work, allowing the world to discover her talent. Unfortunately, her popularity led to her exclusion from the Roma community. She spent her last years in Inowrocław, where she died in 1987. The mural is a tribute to her unique sensitivity and artistic legacy.
