Kamienica pod Gwiazdą is one of the most beautiful tenement houses in Toruń. It is impossible to ignore it, as it is considered one of the most impressive and best-preserved examples of patrician tenement houses in Poland. It bears traces of various eras, from Gothic walls, through a richly decorated baroque façade, to interiors whose layout dates back to the Renaissance. Today, it houses the Museum of Far Eastern Art, which will take you to the world of the Orient. Here you will see unique exhibits from China, Siam, Tibet, Japan, India, Thailand and Vietnam. Among them, among others: examples of Japanese and Chinese artistic craftsmanship - ancient Chinese bronze products (some of them are over three thousand years old), unique Far Eastern porcelain, terracotta figurines, and original stone reliefs from an Indian Jain temple. The exhibition also included a collection of Far Eastern weapons and armaments. You will also surely be delighted by the oriental garden located in the yard of the tenement house.
